Year 4 Excursion

In Week 6, the Year 4 children from Rooms 12, 16 and 19 went on an excursion to  Fremantle. It was a jam packed day that was thoroughly enjoyed by everyone.

We began at the Fremantle Prison, where we were given a tour and learnt all about convict life. We were able to see inside the cells, looked at where the outdoor recreation time was spent and learnt about how the first convicts spent the majority of their time - working!

After the Prison we set off to the Roundhouse on foot and learnt about the history of one of the oldest buildings in Fremantle.

The children were pretty ravenous by this stage so off we went to Cicerellos for lunch. I think this was a highlight for all the children as they were able to enjoy the beautiful views of Fremantle while filling their tummies with delicious food.

We quickly retuned back to the Roundhouse to see the firing of the cannon, before we arrived at our last stop for the day, the Shipwreck Museum. The children went on a scavenger hunt to find certain items to tick off their list and learn all about the Batavia shipwreck.

The return trip back to school was very quiet, with most of the children (and teachers) feeling pretty weary.
